Inventory system thoughts

So, laid down some thoughts last night, since i couldn’t sleep anyway.

One way is the classical fixed var approach, which would mean having ALOT of vars that each hold a single item. This is not a very useful approach unless you have fixed objects, and only about 5 items or so in a fixed inventory.

Another way is to have a array containing all items with the index as a item id, and then the name of it, but you’d need another one to store what objects the player have in his inventory.

The way i thought of, was to store it all in a array, in the format of 13×03, with the first being the number of items the player have, and the last number being the item id, with x being the splitter, used for some simple string code that splits it into 2 variables. Run this in a loop and hey presto! you got a inventory system.

Woke up a full hour before bus arrived, was in bed cuddling the cat before getting up and dressed, took the bus to school, said hi to classmates, got the new schemes, pretty quiet day… Had a bit german along with Boot Camping Windows XP onto 2 MacBooks, much less work then i expected it to be. Went home with bus, ate some food, did a little work on the Escort, went in and watched a episode of Top Gear before nearly falling asleep X.X not something i can do normally, and i’m tired as heck right now… Gonna be fun seeing what tomorrow brings

School start

School starting on Wednesday, gonna be tough getting up at 7:30 to get on the bus, considering i woke up at 1PM today… Considered pulling a all nighter the day before Wed so i could sleep in a decent time, but i doubt that will work…
Eitherway, its gonna be damn tough..

Was at the Kolding track yestaday, pretty nice place, and boy that Mazda kicked ass…

So, quite awkward moments in chat, somehow the discussion fell on “Boobs in Space/No-grav”. Quite interesting, why haven’t NASA done any research on that? Heard they might have done a sex study, but they can’t say that without video proof

In other news, was at the railway museum today, was quite fun seeing all the locomotives along with trying a real Handcar I would sooo build 100m railway track and have 2 of those for drag races xD

Had family over on visit, and they had a little puppy Sure was cute, but the cats did send a lot of weird looks to it xD Now in bed with the macbook and my insane kitty cuddling my arm

Plans for tomorrow? erm, railway museum maybe, not that certain on it yet… We’ll see.

Package arrived!

My package from Hong Kong arrived this morning, woke up and checked the package delivery status, went straight past the customs and onto to the local post office. 5 minutes after reading that the local postman stood outside my door with it. Oh joy! the package was intact, package looked decent and my stuff didn’t have any damage. Also got a sheet of stickers with it

Anyway, the package consisted of:

New charger (Turnigy Accucell-6)
Watt meter (Turnigy as well, looking forward to testing it)
Wire clipper (cheaply made, but not like im cutting huge pieces of wire with it)

Most likely going to order more from Hobbyking.com in the near future, great prices!

Bleh, school starts in 1 week and 2 days… well at least its only 2 days of school before weekend, so should be bearable. Trip to germany tomorrow to get cheap soda and candy, sure is gonna be fun!

In other news: North korea punished their football team for being a bunch of bad players. To be honest they’re like farther to a baseball playing son, “if you mess this up, you gonna be spank’d!”. Rumors go they possible face execution aswell

Not a lot happening around here lately, just been surfing the internets I must say i’ve missed the rain quite a bit, and now we finally get some, so awesome weather, albiet rather dark and somewhat cold, but its great

Well, a little list of games I’d probably get when they come out, and if they come out

Grand Turismo 5 ( Like, it’s been under development for frigging ages? )
Creeper World 2 ( Indie release due sometime this late year, see www.knucklecracker.com for more and CW1 )
Fallout: New Vegas ( Can’t wait to see the amount of innovation that game brings.. )
Sims 4 ( Will there be one? Will it finally move away from censoring everything? More coming up after the break. )

And that’s about it, not that much as im not into that many games

Its WAAAAAAY too hot outside, even now at 11:30 PM im sweating while just laying in the bed… laptops overheat while doing next to nothing, and doing anything at all…

This weather just SUCKS!
